Rita P. Kelleher

I had the privilege of taking a course with Dean Kelleher during my master's program at Boston College. She was not only a superb Dean for the school, but also a master teacher. The wonderful reputation of graduates of the Connell School of Nursing is in no small part a reflection on Dean Kelleher's leadership and vision for the school.

We are coming to the end of an amazing generation in our family, may we be inspired by their character and fortitude. One cannot appreciate who they are or where they are going without knowing from whence they come. I am proud and inspired by the amazing people that have blazed the trail before us in our family. Miss Kelliher was a wonderful blend of a good administrator and a thoughtful human being. As student nurses we respected her always, and yet we knew that she cared for us all. She was a great role model! Jo Ryan Sears - class of 1959 B.C.S.N.

I've only known Rita a couple of years and I am so happy to have had the privilege of knowing her .She was a wonderful woman so full of fun and life. I will miss seeing her every day when I am at work at Allerton House.My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.

My mother, Margo, and I, send our prayers to the family. My Mom and Rita had a very special relationship. They were the last of the original residents at Allerton House. The last time they saw each other was when Mom was invited to go to the Friday night pizza party. Rita had a chair saved right next to her for Margo. They considered themselves "best friends." Rita was a very special woman to many people, and especially to my Mom.
