O'Neill Funeral Home - Cumberland Obituary

Rita C. Lacombe, 87, of North Smithfield and formerly of Cumberland, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 1, 2018. She was the wife of the late Leonard Lacombe. Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Helen (Bouchard) Soucy. Rita was an inspector packer for Corning Glass Company. She is survived by her children, Jeanne Higgins, Anne Marie Zifcak and her husband, Gregory, and Leonard Lacombe Jr. and his companion, Sandy Dolbec, and her four grandchildren, Allison Higgins, Matthew Higgins, Amanda Zifcak, and Marissa Lacombe. She also leaves two sisters, Ruth Palin and Jeanne Gendron. She was the mother-in-law of the late Luke (Butch) Higgins and the sister of the late Theresa Dubois, Margaret Lambert and Gerard Soucy. The funeral will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 9:30AM from the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in Saint Ambrose Church, School Street, Albion.  Burial will be in Saint Ambrose Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4-7 PM in the O’Neill Funeral Home.
