Rita A. Schleppy, 85, of Bangor, passed away, Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Born in Easton on Aug. 29, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Mary (Renaldo) Capobianco.
Rita was employed by various garment mills in the Slate Belt area and was a 1952 graduate of Bangor High School.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Roseto, Blue Valley Senior Center and UNITE, formerly the ILGWU.
Rita's biggest enjoyment came from time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing poker, bingo and bus trips to casinos.
She is survived by three daughters, Maryann Parry of Pen Argyl, Cathy A. Hausmann of Bethlehem and Christina M. Roberts of Saylorsburg; a son, Kenneth R. Schleppy Jr. of Bangor; six grandchildren, Ryan, Melissa, Ken, Felicia, Nick and Kylie, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Schleppy Sr., a great-granddaughter, Evelyn Hope; and a brother, Michael Capobianco.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019, at 11 a.m., at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, www.ruggierofuneralhome.com, 126 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Pen Argyl. There will be viewing hours Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m., and Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Interment will be private in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel New Catholic Cemetery, Roseto.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to Mended Little Hearts, Philadelphia Region, 1578 Clark Drive, Yardley, PA 19067.

To the whole family, I was very shocked to learn that Rita had passed away! I cannot believe it!! She battled through so much! My condolences to all of you. I loved traveling to the casios with her. She will now be healthy and out of pain. God bless her and may she rest in peace.
