Not sure what to say?

I just read of Rita and Dan´s journey in our "Faith" magazine. What a beautiful story! You are a good man Dan! Life seems so unfair at times but God does not make mistakes! Stay strong, my prayers are with you all! There will be a time when you will be together again I truly believe...AND THIS TIME NEITHER OF YOU WILL LEAVE . Prayers to you all as you come up on one year without Rita!!

I knew Rita as a friend and as my daughter Martha´s school counselor. I knew both the warm and caring friend she was to many. And I knew her as a wise and encouraging counselor in the school setting. I tribute her with helping my daughter excel during her high school years as well as the incredible adult and mother she became. I feel such deep appreciation that I know she gave to many. Rest well dear one.

Rita was always smiling! I had lost touch with her over the years. She tutored our Michael in reading. I am very sorry to the family as I know how close you are because of your Mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you all Nancy Faulman

Dan & family, you are in our hearts and prayers. Our deepest sympathy in your great loss of a very loving and special person in your lives.

This is such terribly sad news; the world has lost its brightest star. Rita was an exceptional person, brilliant and kind and so much fun to be with. Her heart was huge and her talent for working with the kids who needed her was amazing. I loved working with her and getting to know her children, who were the light of her life. My heart goes out to her family, and my memories of Rita will always bring me joy. Lin Culver, FHC

Rita was a colleague at Forest Hills Central. Her Obituary was a beautiful tribute to the beautiful person she was. Your loss cuts deep. And yet you have so many incredible memories. Her spirit will live on forever. She will be so missed. Think of the lives she touched, that will bring you some comfort.

Rita and I collaborated with many students over the years at Forest Hills Central. She was a delightful person who cared deeply for her students.

Dan and family, I am sad to hear of your loss. Rita was first a loving and dedicated mother, wife, and teacher. Always a positive, energetic supporter of all. She touched so many lives in a loving kind way. Her impact on those young people can be measured for generations. Those she touched were forever blessed. With the greatest respect and appreciation. Forest Hills Dan Switek

I have been blessed & honored to be a part of the beautiful Shaheen family. Rita & I talked every 2 weeks, as I was her cleaning lady. We shared our joys, sorrows, laughter, tears & prayers together. We liked so many of the same things., snacks, movies, hobbies, cheerleading, songs. I told her one day, you know Rita if we had been raised in the same town & went to the same school I know we would have been best friends. So many memories I have that I will cherish forever. She always had a...
