Mrs. Shankland was my neighbor 2 doors down when I was a child, growing up. She was always very kind❣ Thank you Mrs. Shankland for putting up with me I was always coming over wanting to swim, or just play board games with Richard. You rarely said no to me☺

I remember my mom Stella Lacek, naming your no-bake chocolate oatmeal cookies after you. My mom called them Mrs. Shankland cookies. I remember you always baking something. And you cooked everyday like my mom.

Rita was my neighbor for the last year she was at Pleasant Lake. She was kind, giving and I so enjoyed her humor. The hallway smelled of her glorious baking from the day I moved in. . . My basset hound, Belle, loved and trusted Rita. . . and she does not do that easily. We both miss her. I wish peace to her family.
