Not sure what to say?

I worked with Rita at Harrisburg Hospital in Pediatrics in the 70s. We instantly became friends . Her heart was big as the sky. Her taste in clothing was impeccable. I remember listening to her dad on the radio. Good bless you, Rita. May the light shine upon you and give you peace. With great affection, Susan Detweiler Rita knew me as Susan Gustavson

I just learned of Rita´s passing; she was a warm compassionate person. As a nurse, no one can match her skills as a phlebotomist as well as I starting intravenous catheters. I´ll always remember the care she rendered to my daughter while I underwent surgery. Rita treated my daughter as if she was one of her own. That was just the compassionate person she was and the type of nurse that made Holy Spirit a great community hospital. My prayers go out to her family and those who mourn her. Eric...

Dear Hannah and Family, Our sincere condolences go out to all of you, especially Hannah, during this difficult time. We remember Rita during her visit to Haiti and during our many family gatherings in Harrisburg. She always had something to show us and always welcomed us as family. It's been a while since we've seen her, but we have so many fond memories. She always sent words of comfort when we lost our parents. She will be missed. We send our love and affection to you all. Joëlle...

Hannah and all of the Wambach family, Cary and I send our deepest sympathy and condolences. My friendship with Rita goes back when I started working at Holy Spirit Hospital. We helped each other raise our precious daughters. We were chosen sisters. I´ll always have wonderful memories of all our times together. She taught me so much. She was the ultimate big sister. I know today she is very happy in Heaven. I very clearly hear her saying,"Yay God!"

Beloved Rita, friend from across time. Always a smile, hug and an interest in myself and my family. Faithful in her church. Loved her community, and family. I will always remember her wall of family pictures. Rita loved her perfectly placed mirrors. Once said, yes I look in the mirror and say Good morning Rita, chuckling, and saying well I live alone. She always greeted everyone with her beautiful smile, happy voice, and energetic step. Faithful, caring and loving servant of God. Truly...

Dearest Rita, you are now running around heaven singing and meeting old friends. we made our First Communion together. We weekly went to the Trinitarian Home for the unwed mothers to help the nuns. High School was a challenge and fun. Later we met on the train you coming from nursing school in Philly and me, Judy, Mary Ann and Annalee from nursing school in Lancaster. Life led us to work at Holy Spirit Hospital where are friendship continued. You and numerous friends got together...

I have known Rita for many years, she always supported our small business "Making Sense Consignments" She always had something positive to say and loved sharing her love with everyone she came in contact with. I will miss her energy and hugs! I often wondered how someone that small could carry such a big heart. May God bless all that knew her and help ease the pain of her passing. Tammy Cortright
