Read MoreI don´t as fortunate to have Rita as a nursing instructor at Joliet Junior College. She was an inspiration and huge influence in my life and career. Rita´s husband was my grade school teacher and later my children´s teacher and was amazing.

We called her "Aunt Rita" though she was my dear Mom's cousin and friend for life. She was a gift to everyone -- a helper, a fighter, a do-er, an encourager. Her smile and laugh lifted your spirits, and made you believe you could do anything. She fought all of the good fights. My love and condolences to Laura and Mary Beth and their families, and to all the friends whose lives she touched.
