Bob was hands-down the smartest student in our Stanford Medicine Class of 1970 and was just a fine person, as was Karen. My love to Bob's family.

I first met Dr. Aber as a medical student, and had the good fortune to return under his leadership as faculty years later. Soft spoken, thoughtful and kind, his leadership and mentorship were powerful forces in my career and life. While I am heartbroken by the loss of a remarkable physician and cherished leader, his legacy is forever in the hearts and minds of those lucky enough to have known Dr. Aber.

Deep condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Dr. Aber. Dr. Aber was a consummate physician, teacher, and kind person and I am very grateful to be a recipient of the Dr. Robert and Karen Aber Scholarship. He made such wonderful contributions to the field of medicine, his patients, and all of his students and mentees over his tenure. He will be fondly remembered.
