Robert A. Acker, 22, of Phoenix, (Ahwatukee) AZ, passed away March 20, 2006. Robert was born February 4, 1984 in Tucson, grew up and attended schools in Ahwatukee, graduating from Mountain Pointe High School in 2002, and had attended Mesa Community College. He was involved in Boy Scouts all through school, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Robert was currently employed with Earnhardt Chrysler-Jeep in Tempe as a service writer and previously worked as a cashier for Bashas. He will be deeply missed by his parents, Bill & Jan Acker; his sister and brother-in-law Rebecca & Travis Renner, niece, Avery and nephew, Kyler of Gilbert; maternal grandfather, A.J. "Mitt" Midtskog; paternal grandparents, William "Jim" & Kathleen Acker; his Uncle Philip & Aunt Melodie Acker and cousins Nickolas and Andrew in Tempe and Great Aunt and Uncle Millie and Al Johanning in Rockford, Ill. He was preceded in death by his brother Matthew Philip Acker in 2001 and recently his grandmother, Betty Midtskog. He deeply loved the Arizona desert and had volunteered with the Pueblo Grande Museum and with the Las Noches de las Luminarias at the Desert Botanical Garden. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, March 30 at 7:30 pm at Mountain View Lutheran Church, 11002 S. 48th St., Phoenix. Tempe Mortuary handling arrangements. Final burial will be at Sunset Memorial Garden in Rockford, IL. Contributions in memory of Robert may be made to "Desert Botanical Garden", 1201 N. Galvin Pkwy, Phx, 85008.
