Robert Ackerman

I am saddened by the passing of Rob. I had the pleasure of flying with Rob in the middle to late 70's at Springfield ANG Base Ohio.
I wish to extend my sympathy and regret of his passing to his family and close friends. A true gentleman and pilots' pilot.

Kathy and I wish to send our condolences to Bob's family. I flew with Bob many times and am very sorry to hear of his passing.

Rob was one of the first guys I met when I joined the Air Guard. We not only had a good time flying together, but I also worked for him some in the construction business. Our deepest sympathy to Rob's family and friends for he will be missed. We salute him and will remember him for his lifetime of service to our country.

I fondly remember flying with Rob Ackerman. He was a great person both in the air and on the ground. I send my condolences to his family and friends during this time of great loss.

Bob Schneider

Rob was a fantastic pilot, officer, father, husband and friend. He will be terribly missed.

My wife, Cathe, and I send our deepest condolences to the Ackerman family. We were fortunate enough to be able to share some fond memories with Rob at the October 2003 reunion of the 178th Tactical Fighter Group at the Springfield Municipal Airport. Rob was an excellent fighter pilot, a professional aviator, and a great guy. Again, our sympathies go out to the Ackerman family from Cathe & Pete Johnson -- Tokyo, Japan.
