ALEXANDER, Robert, of Richmond, departed this life September 9, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Alexander; one daughter, Pamela Gardner; three sons, Kenneth, Robert (Denise), and Reginald; six grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Carter and Juanita Smith; one brother, David Whitehead; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment private. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 10:45 a.m. Tuesday. Online condolences can be made at www.jenkinsjr.com.

To the family of Mr. Alexander, I was sad to hear the news of his passing. I work at philip morris where he use to drive the trucks though. I known him for about three years and in that time he became like family to me. I'm from South Carolina and he always use to talk about how he use to travel there to visit family. I feel just a real connection with him......He will be truly missed.

Dear Aunt Loretta, it is rare that we run across individuals in life that we have nothing but the fondest and happiest of memories; know that Uncle Robert was one of those individuals. Even though it's been awhile since we've last seen each other Uncle Robert always put a smile on my face just by the smile on his face. Full of life and love and just plain ole' fun to be around.
