Not sure what to say?

Here it is 2025 and the fun times I remember. Yes that is what memories are made of. See on the other side of the river my friend

I was trying to figure out if college was for me. 1973-74 at Richland College. For the first time, someone made American history interesting and fun....and even funny. I´ll never forget Mr. Alther describing the LBJ campaign for the presidency with all of the donors and insiders up to their elbows in bbq sauce.... What great guy. He obviously loved his chosen field.

2023 and your memories still abound. The three musketeers, Bobby, Johnnie and Paxton.

Always in my memories, knowing you are with Paxton and Johnnie, sitting around the table having a good laugh. Miss you dear friend

I cannot believe it has been FIVE YEARS since Bobby left us. In 1972, the charter faculty of Richland College met for the first time. Bobby Alther was an instantly recognizable as a leading member of that group, and without a doubt, his positive personality and joyful presence helped set the tone for a group of different individuals to coalesce into an amazing, working cadre focused on bringing student interests and learning together into a well-tuned effort of providing education .

I M CURIOUS IF HE EVER TAUGHT IN Michigan - I 1969 I had a teacher at Kellogg Community College - very dynamic - made history come Alive. Doubt this reaches any family now - but if it does - please know I went on to be a History teacher and will forever cherish his memoryn

My sincere condolences are with the family and friends during this difficult time. May our most loving and comforting Heavenly Father be with you.

My sincere condolences to the family for your loss. May God lift you up as you draw close to him in prayer. Psalm 94:18,19

Robert was a my favorite professor in college and a good friend for the past 30 years. Little did I know that as I went through medical school and residency, he would become a patient of mine. I always enjoyed his sense of humor and knowledge of history. He had a memory of dates that was amazing. I can remember making an meeting date and he quipping "oh, that's Thomas Jefferson's birthday!" What a great guy. He will truly be missed. I wish all the best for is partner Richard.
