Not sure what to say?

I grew up with Robert since grade school and graduated from Hilo High School in 1950. He was a genuine friend although we met only occasionally after high school at class reunions, I have very fond memories of him. Conversed with him last year and am proud to read of his high achievements. We will all miss a great classmate.

Aloha Robert,
Norman Sus Nishioka

Bob was truly a wonderful man! I have known you all my whole life and have always considered you family! My condolences Pat and Wendy!

Dr. Amai was a well-respected professor, and very caring person. I worked under him doing undergraduate research and learned so much from him. I know he will be greatly missed, but he will live on in our hearts and memories. My most sincere sympathies to his family. May he rest in peace.

It was such an honor to be taught by Dr. Amai. He always had a smile on his face and was such a humble man. My condolences to His family.

What a wonderful sweet, caring soul. Las Vegas was blessed to have Dr. and Mrs. Amai for so long. God bless you Mrs. Amai and Wendy. Always a friend, Louie Trujillo

What a loss for this world! Dr. Amai always went out of his way to help students. He was amazing, not only as a professor and person but had a talent to remember your name after meeting you for the first time. Years could pass and he never forgot who you were. A thoughtful, considerate, and caring man to all. God Bless you Dr. Amai for the many memories you gave me. Thank you for being a friend, mentor, leader, and super instructor. You will never be forgotten.

May God welcome you...

My Condolence to his family. He was my professor for chemistry and pharmacology at Highland's University. He was A gifted instructor. My he rest in peace.

Lonnie and I are thinking of you both during this trying time and I am remembering my time spent with Dr. Amai. Having known him through school, the Kiwanis, the Chamber of Commerce and the Las Vegas political scene was an honor and a definite learning experience for me. He will be missed but never forgotten. Remember that he has gone to a far better place and will be sitting at the left hand of our Lord and Savior. Peace be with you both, Pat and Wendy......

The students of NMHU were so very fortunate to have such a talented, dedicated and wonderful professor and individual.
