Robert P. Anderson

1935 – 2021

Agawam – Robert P. Anderson (A.K.A – Andy, Mr. Golf, Uncle Andy, Mr. G, or “G”) died peacefully Thursday morning.  Andy was born in Springfield, son of the late C. Paul and Ruth Anderson, and has lived in Agawam most of his life.  He was a 1954 graduate of Agawam High School, where he excelled at sports.  He owned and operated Anderson & Raymond Supply Company in West Springfield for many years.  An avid golfer, he was a member of Oak Ridge Golf Club, the Springfield Country Club and Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic.  A few of the sayings that Andy lived his life around were “Make someone Happy” and “It’s nice to be nice”.  Besides a round of golf or enjoying a good cigar, Andy loved to be around friends, of which he had many.  He leaves his wife of 42 years Lynne (Flaskamper) Anderson; a daughter Noele Faccidomo and her husband Stephen; a grandson Anthony, several nieces, and nephews and many many dear friends.  Besides his parents, Andy was predeceased by his sister Janice Burne.  The funeral will be held at the AGAWAM CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME Tuesday at 11:00am.  Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Not sure what to say?

I remember when I was roommates with Andy and Sabrina years ago. I was making the corded that morning. As I was filling up the coffee pot with water.....it started pouring out everywhere. I said....Andy....something is wrong with this coffee pot...it leaks like a sieve. Andy said yeah man....it tends to do that when you fill it up twice! Andy....I'm still in shock brother. And deeply saddened. But I know you would want all of us to remember the good times....and smile when we think about you....

Lynne always enjoyed his humor and prospective re: life ,fit in perfect with Mount Irvine GC Tobago West Indies-----enjoyed that story, you take care.

Dear Lynne, I am very sorry for your loss. Please know you are in my thoughts at this difficult time.

Lynn, I am so sorry to hear about Andy´s passing. I will always remember him for his kindness and great sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time.

I was a struggling college student with no real job experience yet. Andy gave me a job and a chance. He fostered a healthy work environment that always felt like family. That was over 40 years ago. I never forgot what a happy, kind and positive gentleman he was and I'll always be grateful for that chance he gave me. Rest in peace, Andy.

Auntie Lynnie I can’t tell you how sorry I am. I absolutely adored Uncle Andy!! He will be greatly missed. Love you lots snd sending many prayers your way.

Lynne, May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. Condolences on the passing of your husband. Warm regards, Mark Perreault

Lynne, we have such wonderful memories of being with you and Andy and have missed both of you these last couple of years. When we think of Andy it is with our high regard for his strength of character, his unique sense of humor, and his devotion to his friends and family. Steve and Mary Gentle

Lynn, while I did not know Andy, I recall the years we spent together in the NTMA.
I wish to express my sympathy to you in this most difficult of time.
