Robert "Bob" Richard Andries, 62, of Burlington, died at 6:45 PM Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at his home. Born July 28, 1950, in Burlington, he was the son of Lloyd Alvin and Mildred Dunham Andries. In December of 1971, he married Marge R. Gerling. They later divorced. On March 6, 2009, he married Judy Ertz in Burlington. He was a 1969 graduate of Burlington High School. After graduation, he entered the family business, Lloyd's Brake Service, and worked there until 1995. He then worked at Catfish Bend/Great River Entertainment for over 15 years. He was a 20 year veteran of the Des Moines County Sheriff's Reserve. He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He enjoyed working on and restoring vintage vehicles, watching westerns and WWII movies, kayaking and camping, drinking Diet Pepsi, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Judy; two daughters, Bobbi Jo (Les) Gaul, and Billi Jo (Kent) Strabala, both of Burlington; two step-sons, Anthony Balderas of New London, and Adrian Balderas of Burlington; three grandchildren, Trystan and Zoie Gaul, and Brylee Rae Balderas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, and two brothers. Cremation has been entrusted to Thielen Crematory. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM Monday, December 3, 2012, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), where the family will receive friends. The memorial service for Mr. Andries will be 10:30 AM Monday, December 3, 2012, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Pastors D. Dean Benton and David Yonker officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) fellowship hall following the service. Memorials have been established for Because Every Mother Matters funding for "Sada's House" and the Great River Hospice House.
