I didn't know Bob well, but you wouldn't know that when you met him coming up the trail. He always addressed me as if I were his son or something. I so enjoyed his attitude and lust for life. He even taught me a thing or two about the mountain. God bless you Bob, I'll miss you.

bob helped me learn and understand hiking in are beautiful san gabriel mountains-he was one of the kindest men that i have ever met-he even gave me his hiking stick one day on the trail-i could go on and on but ill finish by saying that bob loved his lord and savior jesus christ and im sure hes hiking those trails again-

I am one of the many, many hikers who grew to love and respect Hiker Bob. One of the last times I saw him was at the Mt. Wilson Trail Race. He told me then that he felt very good and was blessed to be doing so well. He also indicated that he was almost 80, had lived a greatly blessed life, and was ready to go if / when God called him home. It's comforting to me to know Hiker Bob is with God. I know you will all rejoice when you see him again - in Heaven. God bless you all - I am praying...

As your neighbors for the past 21 years, we've become part of your family and you've become part of ours.....Robert will be missed, he put a valiant fight against this dreaded disease, but we all know he's now in heaven and no longer suffering. May God surround you with his love and comfort now.
