The Healy Chapel Funeral & Cremation Services - Aurora Facility Obituary

Robert C. Applequist, passed away September 27, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 82. He was born April 26, 1931, in Aurora, Illinois, the son of Carl and Catherine (Baker) Applequist.

He married Lillian Marema on December 8, 1951, at Aurora, Illinois and worked as a printer for Warwick Publishing. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas, since moving from Yorkville, Illinois, in 1992. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles, fishing, and reading. He also loved to drive in the fall to look at the foliage.

Robert is survived by his son, Thomas (Donna) Applequist of Somonauk, IL; two daughters, Sandra Jean Kunkel of Yorkville, IL and Julia (Jay) Ringel of Mountain Home, AR; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Eugene Leonard Applequist and sister, Marion Miller.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl. Aurora, Illinois, with Pastor Thomas Kleinfeldt, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
