Not sure what to say?

Coach Aston, what a great coach and easy going person. I'll never forget the '69 football season at Del Valle, having Coach chew us out and motivate us as well. Thank you for teaching me football and how to be a nice guy! But mostly, thanks for the instilled mental toughness that has never left me! RIP Coach. Steve Wilson, DVHS '68- '71 Agile, Hostile and Mobile!

He taught me drivers training. May his family find peace at this time.

My football coach and wrestling mentor like a father too me RIP

Good night Bob.
There are so many hearts with you for eternity. You had a passion and understanding of kids that I will always admire. You and I had an understanding that Ill always treasure.
Youre in good company up there, Always loved, always admired.

Dear Bob,
May you rest in peace. Thank you for being a great example for any teacher to follow. You made a difference. I clearly remember your patience in Auto shop. I still laugh remembering when you "suggested" to Pam Kahn and I that it might be tough to keep our new white overalls clean while working on my brother Ted's, Triumph Spitfire. You treated every high school student with respect and helped us build a "can do" attitude towards our future. May your family (like Jeff and I) be...

Bob was a great teacher and friend, he made a young student feel important. I always love how he would do the same work out he asked of his athletes; we could never let him out hustle us. he will be my prayers always and will be greatly missed

I first met Mr. Aston when he moved from Bakersfield to teach at Del Valle in the fall of 1966. He became our JV Football Coach and Head Wrestling Coach. As it was my Senior Year, I was only in his Wrestling program for one year, but it was a very memorable one as we were Foothill Athletic League Co-Champions, won by a rousing defeat of Acalanes on our home mat. I'm sure that was the first of many more for Coach Aston. I saw him several times later on, the last after Del Valle closed. I had...

Mr. Aston was as fair to us girls as he was to the guys. He gave us the confidence to do anything we put our minds to. Including working on car engines and driving on the freeway. Back in the 70"s girls didn't always get a break, but Mr. Aston was always fair. I remember like it was yesterday how tall he walked and how he treated all of us as if we were family. Huge impact on my life as well.

Mr. Aston was one of my favorite teachers at DelValle. He had such a sense of humor and loads of patience! I had him for PE, Autoshop and Drivers Ed. The world is a lesser place with his passing. RIP Mr. Aston!
