Although I only personally met Dr. Awe one time, I know many, many people benefitted from his generosity through Omega House. His presence in the community will be missed.

Dear David and other Awe's: I can only say how sad I am to find out about Bob's death. I just heard today...Bob worked with us from time to time here at MRC reviewing, with candor, medical malpractice cases. But mostly, he was a "real doctor". He was a champion for those nobody else championed:a true healer and a good man. I have learned much from him about goodness of spirit and having values in the proper order. I will miss him for the rest of my life. Doreen Wise

Dr. Awe touched many lives. Many directly through his medical care, community work and teaching. Even more were affected indirectly through the care their loved ones received through his generious insite to medical care. We grief his loss, long with David and his family. Bless him for all that he has done, and all that he gave. I'm a better nurse because of him.

I was very saddened to read about Dr. Awe's death. I worked for the HCHD from 1971 to 1996 and as the first Infection Control Nurse in the city of Houston, Dr. Awe was a wonderful source of information on infectious disease. This is truly a great loss for the Houston Medical Center. My prayers are with all his loved ones that are grieving this terrible loss.
