Not sure what to say?

Bob led his life as the epitome of an Irish Catholic Gentleman. It was a privilege to experience 14 years as a classmate through St. Sabina's grammar school '52-60, Leo H.S. '64, Xavier U. in Cincinnati, Oh '68 and playing at Cook School's "stadium" basketball, softball etc. slacking our thirst sometimes with adult beverages & sating our hunger with White Castle "belly bombers" fried onion covered sliders, always fun with the unbounded enthusiasm of youth & with the eternal optimism life...

Paul Dwyer-Bob Baal's classmate for 14 yrs, fortunate life time lifelong friend

Patty, Carole and I only just learned of your loss a few days ago when we spoke with your brother, Bill. We are deeply sorry for your loss. Jim and Carole Cooke, Tubbercurry, Ireland

Dear Pat, I am truly sorry for your loss. Bob was a class act with a great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all the Sabina & Leo classmates that were fortunate enough to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God Bless, Brian Tansey

DEAR PATTY AND FAMILY
I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I GOT THE CALL FROM PAUL DYER ABOUT BOB'S DEATH. I SPENT 3 WONDERFUL YEARS AT XAVIER AS BOB'S ROOMMATE. WE SPENT QUITE A FEW HOURS AT DANA'S TOGETHER. I ALWAYS LOOKED FORWARD TO TALKING WITH BOB WHENEVER I WAS IN THE CHICAGO AREA. I AM SURE BOB WAS A GREAT FATHER AND HUSBAND AND WILL BE MISSED.

DICK FIEHRER FAIRFIELD, OHIO

I am truly saddened by this news. Bob and I were young lawyers at Tim Harrington's office. After going our separate ways We would have a hurried lunch or quick cup of coffee. Bob was always knowledgeable, practical and professional. He will be missed. Gene Jobin

Bob was a warrior in the court room. I had breakfast with him very recently across the street from the Daley Center while we were both killing time before our next cases were up. You would never know he was sick. He never complained. He was one of the true gentleman of the profession, and his word was his bond. He will be missed greatly. R.I.P., Bob.

To Bob's family,

We are very sorry to hear about Bob's passing. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May your faith and love for each other get you through the difficult days ahead. Rejoice in all of the happy memories that Bob was able to share with you.

Mary Hefner and Pat Clancy

Dear Anne,

God bless you and your family. You will remain in my prayers during this difficult time. I will pray that God blesses you with peace. Love, Jennifer (Hanichak) Farrell
