Not sure what to say?

I stumbled upon Bob's obituary while looking up old friends and colleagues from Ziff Davis back in the 70s, mostly. I am very sorry for your loss and hard to believe that someone as strongminded as Bob Bader succumbed to this horrible disease. I remember him as being a very professional and goal-oriented leader in our department and it wasn't long until he left us for top management at ZD. My condolences to your whole family.

"So, you want to work here?"

With those six words, Bob welcomed me to Ziff-Davis where we worked together nearly two years. Two seminal years for me. Bob was sharp, tough, driven, knew his stuff and didn't suffer fools. He pushed me - and others - hard and we were the better for it. His hardened office mien disguised a warm, loving father, husband and friend. I had the benefit of staying in touch with Bob for several years post ZD and regret our having lost touch with one...

To Bob's family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Though I hadn't spoken to Bob in a long time, I can still remember the last conversation we had in 1997.
I first met Bob in 1994 after being hired by a member of his staff. I was a young professional with a lot to learn. At first, I was intimidated by Bob. He could certainly command a presence. I was afraid he'd ask me a question that I didn't have an answer for. Sometimes, I even avoided him as he walked down the long hallways at One Park...

So sad to hear this news. I worked at Ziff-Davis for many years and remember Bob well. He was well liked by all and I learned so much from him. My prayers go out to the family.

Bob defined leadership at Ziff Davis Publishing. His mammoth caring, sharing and giving heart was an incredible, kinetic docent in sales training, market development for so many, generating accelerated sales and profits for the company. I so highly respect Bob and am saddened deeply for his loss for our country, for friends, family and colleagues. My faith and I know Bobs family faith opens a new bright light ahead in our greater Kingdom... God bless Bob, and the entire family including...

Dear Lynn and family,

I am saddened to hear of the loss of your dear father. He was a wonderful man who helped so many in their careers. I know how proud he was of you, and of all of his family. May he rest in peace knowing how much he was loved. With love, Nancy

"The music in my heart I bore,/Long after it was heard no more." May Bob's memory be music that comforts your hearts for many, many years.

My deepest condolences to Debbie and the family.
