Not sure what to say?

I know this posting is a bit late, but it has been hard to search for the right words to use in such an awfully trying time.

Simply stated, Robert was a great uncle. He cared for my sisters and me, when he truly didn’t have to. Robert had never said it vocally, but one could easily tell he had everyone else’s best interests in his mind at all times. I consulted with him on possible career paths, along with various imperative decisions throughout my high school years that have led me to...

I was Robert's supervisor at Contel back in the 80's and still tell stories of his dry wit and great need to broaden my vocabulary with his memo on the "word for the week". Only he could pull that stunt and get away with it. I'm so very sad to hear of his sudden passing. I think of all the people Robert touched and how he will be missed by all of us. If he could have that influence on us, the loss to his family can only be relieved by God's love and grace. You are in my thoughts and...

Teri, You are and have been like a sister to me. Both you and Robert have been supportive friends and a loving supportive Aunt and Uncle to Joey and Michele. I love you , Alex, Noel and Cole and will always be here when you need me. I will remember the good times during our family gatherings with Robert at the beach. He will be missed but never forgotten. You took amazing care of him and never gave up hope. I know he is pleased with his lovely farewell and divine resting place you...

Teri,
Each day since knowing of Robert's passing I have had you and your family in my heart.
Our brief meeting in July didn't allow me to get to know your husband, but it is clear how much he will be missed.
Although I am at a distance, please let me know if there is anything at all that I can do for you now or in the coming months.
Most sincerely, Kathy O'Reilly-Rudkin

I played volleyball with Robert many seasons in the late 80's as part of the P-Sharks in Atlanta. Although I had not seen Robert in years since my move to California, the memories of 6 knuckleheads driving around the South to hit a white ball around are priceless and sustain me, as they were some of the best days I remember. The other "Sharks" and I will put on our faded jerseys and lift a cheap beer to those golden days and Robert's wit and charm. We will miss you, my friend.

Newspaper editor, counselor, musician, "brainiac" :), athlete, teacher, organizer, musician, "dog whisperer", son, brother and father. There are so many talents you brought to this world and shared with others. I will miss you and wait for the day when we can talk again.

With much love,
bro

Dear Lord,
You've taken a good one from us.

Dear Teri & Family,
Our hearts and prayers are with you as you work through this difficult time. Tommy, Baili, Kara and I had the pleasure of getting to know Robert over these past few years and found him to be funny, thoughtful and easy going. We thoroughly enjoyed our outings together and will miss his wit an wry humor. And I will never forget the compassion and concern you both showed when I was going through difficult times as well. Please know that you are very special friends and...

Teri, I was saddened to hear of Roberts passing. I will miss the occasional witty e-mail that he would surprise me with. Robert gave me the opportunity to make my first big steps into volleyball officiating. I will miss him as a friend and fellow official.
