Robert Barrett Jr., 81, died peacefully Friday evening in Baystate Medical Center. Robert was born in Springfield, the son of the late Robert and Leora (Bradley) Barrett Sr. He has lived in West Springfield most of his life. He served in the United States Navy from 1956 – 1959. He worked as a locksmith for Building Specialties in Agawam and retired in 2013. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by a son Dale Barrett in 1987 and a sister Roberta Norris. He leaves his wife Sandra (Chiz) Barrett; three children Leora Fafard and her husband Richard, Robert Barrett III and Daryl Barrett and his wife Jennifer; six grandchildren Jessica Blain, Rebecca, Jacob and Matthew Fafard and Liam and Lily Barrett; four great grandchildren Josiah and Jason Blain and Jonathan and Nathaniel Fafard and a brother Kent Barrett and his wife Mary. A private graveside service will be held in Paucatuck Cemetery. A public service will be held in the future. The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. So sorry for your loss, I dealt with Bob at building specialties for many years, he was always willing to chat about something, we both had an interest in tractors,and he always talked about his family. May he rest in peace
