Robert Earl Bates

Robert Earl Bates, age 92, passed away December 1, 2009, in Council Bluffs.

Robert is the son of the late Bert and Nellie Bates. He was born October 20, 1917, in Oakland, Iowa.

Robert is survived by his children, Randall Bates, Earl Bates, James Massouris, Sally Massouris, and Arbia Massouris; his brothers and sisters; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside services with military honors have been changed to Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at 3 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery, Oakland, Iowa. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
