Read MoreAs a young boy I was asked to bring a cup of coffee from Libby's Diner to Bob's office. The coffee cost 25 cents and Bob gave me a $2.00 tip. To this day that kind gesture brings a smile to my face. My deepest sympathy to the entire Batterson family. He loved New Canaan and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. On Memorial Day he always organized and led the Veterans in the Memorial Day Parade.

Rest in peace Bob. More than a neighbor, you were like family. I will never forget how much you liked the cherry tomatoes from my dads garden, how you always arrived with your suit from the dry cleaners asking about our day, and how you´d always be the first to wish us a Merry Christmas. You´ll always be remembered for the kind man you were.
