As a former Fenton resident and grade school friend of some of the Berkey children, I just wanted to send along a note of condolence. It is amazing how our lives can be touched by people far away in either time or space. The family is in my thoughts and prayers.

We saw the love of Jesus not only by his love and compassion, but through his devoted servanthood. He was a true prayer warrior. We are so thankful for all of his prayers. Our hearts break as we will miss him. We are happy that he is at home now. We fondly remember all his 'encouragement notes', his visits to dad in the nursing home and hospital, when he took Randy to Grand Rapids, the Maundy Thursday communions, love lifts, our participation in his last membership class, the opportunities...

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

A true servant of Christ, Pastor Bob taught us so well by example of how to love our Lord, love one another, and unselfishly serve the shut-ins and spiritually needy. I will miss my good friend, mentor, and confidant of 25 years.
