Robert H. Bigley M.D.

Bob was one of the best teachers I ever had. I spent a semester at the University of Oregon Health Center studying medical genetics. I was a student at the Univ of Miami on sabbatical.

Bob was a wonderful friend . Dick and I enjoyed many good years with him at OHSU. He was his own person and very much loved by the many students and faculty who encountered him. Bob left this world a better place, just because he was who he was. He will be missed greatly by us all. Marilyn Jones

Bob was a wonderful man whom my daughter and I will always remember. I can still see him in my mind, telling us about mushroom-hunting and giving us some precious dried morels. Or walking along the quai in Bordeaux when he and Sybil came to visit us in France. All my memories of Bob are of a gentle, intelligent, modest, kind man who was always a lot more interested in other people than in blowing his own horn. I feel lucky to have known him.

I have many good memories of my Uncle Bob and his family. This happy, gentle man will always be one of my favorite people. My family and I look forward to seeing you, Sybil and all the family at Bob's Celebration of Life.

My memories of Uncle Bob start when I was about 6, and he came by to take me for a ride in his new Austen Healy with the top down. Bob and Joyce hosted me and girl friends of mine from high school and college on occasion. Andy and Peter entertained us with their projects and inventions and took David to the zoo. Bob always had some good wine and cheese for Les and I, and we loved Joyce's spaghetti.

When I was flown home to Oregon from Switzerland with leukemia in 1982 to prepare for a bone marrow transplant in Seattle at FHCRC, Dr. Bigley was the first doctor I met at OHSU.
