Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Henry and Lydia (Husted) Bischoff.  A graduate of Olney High School, Philadelphia, he attained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Temple University, Philadelphia.  He went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Psychology from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA.

Mr. Bischoff was a proud U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, stationed stateside.

He, along with his first wife Ellen Jane, worked as psychologists and operated their private practice with office locations in Quakertown, Doylestown, and Perkasie, PA, for 10 years until retiring in 1986.  Previously, he was employed as a teacher for the Philadelphia School District, where he taught science for many years.

Mr. Bischoff was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Perkasie.

A sports enthusiast, he loved skiing, scuba diving, and golfing (notably having scored a “hole-in-one”) and had participated in the Senior Olympics.  He was fond of traveling, highlighted by trips to the Caribbean, Grand Cayman Islands, Hawaii, Holland and Alaska including an Alaskan cruise.  He particularly enjoyed skiing trips to the European Alps and Vermont.

A talented pianist, Mr. Bischoff had a special interest in jazz and classical music.  He also had an airplane pilot’s license, frequently flying Cessnas out of the Pennridge Airport in Perkasie.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Ruth A. Bischoff, of New Britain, PA, and Janet R. Bischoff and her partner Edward Reed, of Sykesville, MD; three stepdaughters, Brenda Mark Schmidt, Linda Nocco and her husband Tony, and Susan Phillips and her husband Bob; two grandchildren, Ashley Zacirka and her husband Michael Hayes, and Tyler Zacirka and his wife Tanara; two step grandchildren, Eddie and Jason;  two great-grandchildren, Keeley and Zachary Hayes and four step great grandchildren, Chloe, Julianna, Jack and Taylor. Not sure what to say?

Dearest Milly, my love and prayers go out to you in this time of loss of your love Bob. May his legacy of love for you lift you up in your times of sadness.
We love you.
Christine and George McHugh

Rutger and I were deeply saddened to learn of Bob’s passing. We have many beautiful memories of fun and laughter by Bob and Millie’s pool. Many times we would walk by the house at night and hear beautiful piano music. We are sending huge hugs to Millie and all of the family. We will miss Bob, especially his quick wit and his beautiful music.

“A Korean War veteran has passed away today.” Bob, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow war veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to begin, ending a successful career as a nation’s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.

Mrs. Bischoff, please accept my condolences during this time. You were wonderful neighbors and friends to my mother over the years. May you find peace in Mr. Bischoff's passing. Jill (Bryan) Best

To Ruth and Janet - I remember your father fondly. He made quite a stir in the neighborhood with his opera singing. I hope you can find those fond memories to comfort you. Millie Parks Porter

To Millie - The most beautiful things in the world must be felt with the heart. I know yours has been touched. From the other Bob and Millie Porter
