Robert Rey Black

Robert Rey Black passed away on April 10 at the age of 77 at Intermountain Layton Hospital. He was born August 20, 1943 in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from BYU with a Master's degree in Library Science, Bachelor's degree in History.  Later he earned an Associate's degree in Computer Technology from SLCC.  

He is survived by his wife of 33 years Rebecca Van Ostrand Black and their children Joyousenne and Lebaron.  Also survived by his children through Karen Hardcastle (and respective spouses):  Dendi Moreno (Lorenzo), Jason, Jacob, Jonathan (Catherine), Jeremiah's wife Felicity, Jared (Maricia), Jesse (Brandy), and Joshua (Becky).  He has 22 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren to date.  Additionally, he is survived by his siblings Katy Brooksby, Jim (Zelpha), and Patty (Jonathan) Glauser.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rey Donald and Eveletta Skouson, his sister Shirley Ewing, his ex-wife Karen Hardcastle, and their infant children Dara, Jorge, and grown son Jeremiah.  

Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM with military honors. Due to their rigid military schedule we ask that you arrive for services by 10:45 AM at Utah Veterans memorial Park & Cemetery located at 17111 South Redwood Road Bluffdale, UT 84065.
