Robert and Dr.. Marcus Foster his friend and partner in leading Oakland Schools were the first administrators in Oakland to really pay attention to the needs of the community. I was active with La Raza Educators when we met with the good men and they responded to our requests. Bob was one of the coolest friend of my dad, Michael Grossman. I know Bob and my dad are already chatting politics and Dad showing him the way around up there. I'm going to miss him and I am sorry for your loss, Barbara. Big hugs.

One of the great men in education that I met in not only my career but coming into adulthood with powerful educators. Dr. Bob had the unique ability to make everyone he talked with feel special and unique. I am greatful to have known him. His knowledge, is a loss for our community that was bettered by his participation in it
