Danbury, NH - Robert D. Blay, 63, of Tommy Higgins Road, died Thursday, May 4, 2006 at the New London Hospital.
He was born in St. Johnsbury, VT on August 21, 1942 the son of Raymond and Mildred (Ferris) Blay. He lived in VT and then New London, NH before moving to Danbury 28 years ago. Bob worked mostly in maintenance for various employers including Colby-Sawyer College and Kearsarge Regional Middle School. He was a member of The United Church of Danbury. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Members of his family surviving include his wife of 40 years, Florence (Champion) Blay of Danbury, NH; two sons, Thomas Blay and Scott Blay both of Danbury, NH; three grandsons, Mark, Jonathan, and Steven; a brother, Kenneth Blay of Lyndonville, VT; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in Elkins Cemetery, Elkins, NH with The Rev. Heather Koop-Fulton, pastor of The United Church of Danbury, officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lake Sunapee Region Visiting Nurse Association, P.O. Box 2209, New London, NH 03257 or to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Bldg., 360 State Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110. Chadwick Funeral Service of New London, NH is in charge of arrangements.
