Robert “Bob” H. Blommer, 80, of Wilmington, NC died February 25, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born September 2, 1940 in Milwaukee, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents Aloysius and Ann Smart Blommer.
Bob graduated from Georgetown University, Washington, DC in 1964. He received his master’s degree in history from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. Upon graduation he joined the family owned Blommer Chocolate Company as director of sales. He moved to Wilmington from Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2003 to serve on the Advisory Board of the New Hanover County Museum of History and Science.
He is survived by life partner, Lowell A. Soucie, son, Brad A. Blommer of Raleigh, NC, daughter, Christine Renchen of Bourbonnais, IL, four granddaughters, and sister Suzy Love and brother-in-law John Love of Denver, CO.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the site of interment in Grant Park, IL.
