Schrader Funeral Home - Eureka Obituary

Alesi, Robert "Bob", passed away, Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the age of 76.

Beloved father of Renee (Andy) Pyatt, Liz (Trey) Alesi-Martin, and Rob (Amber) Alesi; grandfather of Kailyn Pyatt, Lauryn Pyatt, Dean Alesi, and Holden Alesi; son of the late Dan and Alice Alesi (nee Kieres); brother of Bruce (Linda) Alesi and Gary (Joan) Alesi; loving uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Bob grew up in Chicago, Illinois in a very close-knit family and community with his parents and two brothers. From the beginning until the end, family was of utmost importance to him. Bob attended and earned his psychology degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. After college, Bob succeeded in many different roles in the automotive industry throughout his life. His career took him from Chicago to several cities across the country before settling in the St Louis area. Bob was known for being a professional that cared tremendously about his clients and co-workers and was greatly admired by all.

Bob was a man of many interests and talents. Throughout his life, he was passionate about playing acoustic guitar, running marathons, painting, woodworking, religious studies, and outdoor activities including hiking and camping. More than anything though, Bob was an avid fisherman. He was able to travel to the prime fishing spots of his dreams, including rural Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Canada. Bob loved a great conversation and joke, and if you knew him you knew has wasn't shy about laughing at his own jokes too! In later life, Bob was able to spend a lot of time with his four grandchildren, whom he loved more than anything else. Bob was also a personal assistant for a young man with Down's Syndrome named Byron. This started as a caretaker role but evolved into a beautiful friendship with Byron, his entire family, and his community.

Not sure what to say?

Respectfully, is this Bob Alesi who was a lifeguard at Norwood Pool in Chicago. He would have been the same age. Something told me to look him up tonight. I was 11 and he would have been 18. Please advise.
At any rate, respect and condolences to family.

Rest In Peace my friend. Thanks for the great experience in working with you and getting to know you as a real gentleman

Rest in Peace Bob.

Had slot of good laughs with Bob! I worked with Bob at Tri Star Honda. He was a great man. We stayed in touch over the years and he will be missed

Darn Bob
I am so sorry to hear the news. You are a very special guy. We only met a little over a year ago at your brother Bruce’s house and I immediately knew we made a great friendship connection. I looked foreword to your visits here in Indiana and our deep conversations.
You were a great guy Bob and you will not be forgotten. Bruce and I will hold up a glass in your honor.
RIP my friend.

I worked with Bob for many years at Plaza Motors. He was a great salesman and most of all friend. I will cherish my memories of him and remember him fondly. My condolences to his family as I know he will be missed. RIP Bob. Al Dulworth
