Robert "Bob" Hill, 83, of Hot Springs Village passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at a local hospital. Bob was born June 28, 1929 in Montrose, Colorado to the late Franklin and Charlene Hill. Bob graduated from Purdue University and Oak Ridge School of Reactor Technology with a Masters in Nuclear and Chemical Engineering. He joined the Navel Reactors Branch, in Washington, D.C. assigned to Admiral Rickover's staff for Reactors and worked on the 1st Nuclear Submarine the "Nautilus". In 1957 he joined General Motors Research and worked in the Analytical Chemistry and Isotope Lab's and published many papers. While in retirement in 1995 Robert Hill received the Arch Colwell Merit award from the Society of Automotive Engineers International. Bob enjoyed working outside gardening, Fitness Center and traveling with Lorraine. He and Lorraine have lived in Hot Springs Village for 21 years. Bob is survived by his wife of 41 years Lorraine Hill, 3 daughters: Carrie Doty, Dawn, Robin Hill-Young, 1 son: Eric (Cheryl) Hill, 2 step-children: Curt (Karen) White, Barbara White. 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. 2 sisters: Janeen (Ralph) Jewett, Muriel Edwards. A Memorial service will be Friday, March 22, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church. Memorials can be made in Bob's honor to Alzheimer's Arkansas 201 Markham Center Dr. Little Rock, AR 72205 or to Christ of the Hills Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village.
