Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Robert “Bob” Charles Lawder won his battle on April 26, 2021 and ascended into the arms of his savior. Born October 6, 1951, Bob built his life and his family on the foundations of strength, humility, understanding, and most of all, love. Bob spent his time on this planet bringing his dreams to life. He built houses, furniture, designed tools, created comfortable living spaces and made the most remarkable and passionate music. He performed with many bands throughout St. Louis and nationally, most notably the Road Apples and the Public Service Blues Band. He also had a successful career as a manufacturing engineer at Sunnen Products. His love of family, of music, of nature, of animals, and of community made Bob universally admired and respected by all who came across him. He shared all that he had and all that he was with those around him, and his light will forever shine in the lives he touched. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Julie Lawder (nee Provow), sons Matthew Lawder (Tasha Lawder) and Jesse Lawder (Kaitlin Cavey), granddaughter Connie Floyd, grandson Henry Cavey-Lawder, great granddaughter Makenzie Dancy, brothers Tim Lawder (Donna Lawder) and Austin Lawder, sister Cherre Rogers (Don Rogers), mother-in-law Sharon Provow, sisters-in-law Donna Lawder, Ronda Provow and Lynn Lombardo, brother-in-law Steve Lombardo, and countless other friends and loved ones he considered family.

Bob’s family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date. A service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

Not sure what to say?

julie, remembering bob ,you and your family.

Julie, my Julie and I are heart broken for you and the family. Always enjoyed talking with Bob out in the yard. We will miss that. We had some common issues so I fully appreciate and understand how he felt. We pray that you will receive peace and calm as you travel your road. Please let us know if we can help.

Julie. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. Please accept my deepest sympathy

My sincere and heartfelt condolences Julie, Matt, Jessie, any & everyone who knew
Bob. We played music together in the 80's, Bob played keys, I played bass. We shared a ton of laughs and had a blast. He was a fun guy and great musician/singer, and will be missed. More recently, I'd run into Julie 'n Bob at CJ Mugss when Matt aka Matty Mo was playing. Always great to see you both, hear Matt, share music and stories. God Bless.

I met Bob while walking my dogs as I used to live just up the street from him and Julie. He was always so friendly, sincere, honest, and happy to share a few or several moments of conversation. He was obviously a lover of animals, and my dogs knew it instantly. Bob had a big heart, and it was clear how much Julie and he loved each other. Though we never performed together, we knew a lot of the same musicians, and I could tell from the list of talented musicians he played with, that he must...

My condolences to Julie,Matt, Jessie,Tim and the whole family. It was my great fortune to have met Bob as a young man, become his friend and share music with him in a variety of situations over the years. Bob was a wonderful guy, and a truly gifted musician. He will always be in my heart..see you on the other side Bob!

My Prayers are with the family doing this time. Thank you Bob for all the walks and conversations we had while I was walking the beat at work. We shall met again in HEAVEN.❤

I used my vw van to haul their equipment sometime my start to being a stagehand. Great gig.
