Robert “Bob” Marchione – known to those that love him as Daddy, Pap, Brother, Uncle, Mone, Beaners, and Mo – passed away suddenly and peacefully on January 4, 2021.
He recently celebrated his 65th birthday. Bob grew up in Lawrenceville and resided in Edgewood for more than 40 years. To know him was to love him. His laugh was infectious, and he told the absolute best stories.
He was an accomplished basketball player throughout his youth and into his adult years. He loved watching his grandsons, Ben and Noah, play sports and explore the outdoors. He taught them, along with many other family and friends throughout the years, to enjoy the wonders of nature. Legend has it he invented breakfast for dinner, a talent now perfected by his daughter, Amy. He remains undefeated in the family cornhole league.
Bob loved the cabin, fishing, hiking the trails in Schenley Park, and taking long convertible rides. He was kind and generous beyond words. Bob was a friend to all, even in the end through organ donation. May each of us carry that love and spirit on in his memory.
Bob was a dedicated employee of Mozart Management for more than 40 years and took extreme pride in his work. There wasn’t a problem he couldn’t solve or an inch of the East End he didn’t know. He was a devout Catholic, never missing mass, and we find comfort knowing that he is now at peace in heaven.
Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years Linda (O’Brien), his daughter Amy Hunt, son-in-law Sean, grandsons Benjamin and Noah, mother Helen, and brothers Donnie and Jimmy, along with other dear family members and lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his father Robert, father-in-law Robert O’Brien, and mother-in-law Matilda “Til.”
Family and friends received at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Magdalene Parish, St. Bede Church, 509 South Dallas Avenue, Point Breeze) on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Fr. Thomas J. Burke, Celebrant. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

This is truly a sad day for me to hear about Bob's passing. Although I only have known and worked with "Mo" for the past 5 years, it was clear what a good person he was with a big heart and always ready to lend a helping hand. Although most of interactions were about fixing the paving issues on the Mozart properties, we had a lot in common. Sorry for your loss, He will be surely missed.

So sorry for loss. Mo was truly a wonderful person! I will miss him coming into our establishment for his automotive needs. He was always a gentleman and such a positive upbeat person!

No words can express how deeply saddened we are to hear of Mones passing. He was a classmate since kindergarten and a friend for life. Our sympathies and prayers go out to you and your family during this very difficult time. Cherish all of the wonderful memories and never forget he will always be in your heart ♥.
