Entered Eternal Life on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Catherine “Katy” Voss, loving father of Tim and Megan, proud grandfather of Hunter, and caring brother of Mary (the late Ed) Gorecki and Margaret (the late Bill) Wundrock. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Rhinold Voss and Esther Voss nee Scannell.
Born in 1928, Bob’s journey began in Milwaukee. He graduated from Marquette University, and went on to be an active member of Marquette’s Veteran’s Brigade. Bob's service in the Army during the Korean War was a source of immense pride, and he carried his commitment to service into his civilian life through his 30-year career in employment administration with the State of Wisconsin.
Bob’s passion for Irish culture remained a constant throughout his life, reflected in his years of volunteering at the Irish Cultural Center and the Shamrock Club, as well as his trips to Ireland with his beloved wife, Katy.
A man of varied interests and boundless curiosity, Bob loved exploring new places. Whether driving alone to Washington DC or Canada, or indulging in his love for history—especially Irish and American history—he had an impressive memory that captivated those around him. His intellectual pursuits were complemented by a deep enjoyment of reading and solving crossword puzzles.
Bob was an avid golfer and took immense joy in long walks, often surpassing seven miles a day after retirement. His love for adventure extended to traveling, always seeking new experiences and sharing them with his family. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children, Tim and Megan, and his grandchild, Hunter. He also had a special affection for Megan’s cats—Figaro, Pemberley, and Mimi—whom he considered family.
Family was at the heart of Bob's life. He and Katy, his wife of 57 years, raised their two children with unwavering love and support. Bob’s legacy is carried forward through his family’s memories and the values he instilled in them.
Robert Voss was a man of exceptional character and boundless enthusiasm for life. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, his stories, and the many lives he touched with his kindness and wisdom.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at St. Eugene Catholic Church (7600 N Port Washington Rd. Fox Point, WI 53217) at 10:30AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM. A luncheon will follow in the narthex.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob’s name may be made to the North Shore Library – Capital Campaign (6800 N Port Washington Rd. Glendale, WI 53217).

My Uncle Bob was and will always be an inspiration. His quick wit and ever ready smile reflected his spirit of kindness.
We shared a passion for both golf and Irish music, and he set a fine example of a healthy lifestyle for us all.
May we meet again on the eternal Heavenly green.
