Robert A. Bogert November 14, 1937 - June 16, 2010 Robert A. Bogert, 72, of Centre Hall, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was born Nov. 14, 1937, in Hackensack, N. J., a son of the late John Albert and Cynthia Fern Wardlaw Bogert. In 1988, he married Catherine G. Hansen Garber, who survives at home. Bob graduated from Antioch College in Antioch, Ohio, earning a bachelor's degree in business with an insurance emphasis. Mr. Bogert was involved in hotel management on the east coast for many years. He later owned and operated two restaurants; Centre Villa in Centre Hall and Center Villa West near Bellefonte. Following the sale of the restaurants, he worked at Mount Nittany Inn in Centre Hall and as a tour bus driver. He worked with the Centre Hall Fire Department and Ambulance service as an E.M.T. He enjoyed traveling, horses and spending time with his grandchildren. He had a passion for cooking and was an accomplished chef. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Vicky Chambers (Paul), of Boston, Donna Riddle (Joe), of Boothwyn, Cathy Comito (Steve), of Philadelphia, Linda Bogert, of New Jersey, and Suzanne Ross (Kevin), of Springfield, Va.; one son, Robert Garber (Debbie), of Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren, Joe, Kate, Steven, Nick, Carleigh, Kyle, Olivia, Maura, Allie, Danni, Kassie and Kyle; and two brothers, Norman Bogert, of Florida, and David Bogert, of New Jersey. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall. A memorial service will follow immediately at 2 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. Bob Gave me my first job..at the Centre Villa.. He sure was a great guy to put up with us crazy girls at work....He will be missed greatly

Bob will be missed, he was a great guy. I have missed his cooking at centre villa since it has closed, but enjoyed the trips to Atlantic City with Bob as our bus driver. He was always making us laugh. Best wishes to his family.
