Not sure what to say?

Bob Boldt coached Crystal Falls (MI) High School to the 1956 Class C State basketball championship -- from the Upper Peninsula. The Yoopers also won the 1956 state basketball titles in Class B (Stephenson) and Class D (Chassell). There were no Class A schools in the U.P., and Class E no longer existed. So the upper peninsula maxed out that marvelous 1956 season.

Bob was a great guy. I played basketball for him at Carrollton and he was a very special guy.

...the redhead

I was the support gal for Mgmt Training and Sales Development. We had a great gang of people in our Dept at Wickes and Bob was one of them. He was a quiet guy but still loved to tease me once in a while. There wasn't anything that Bob didn't know about PH&E and I was always sure to bug him with a question or two every day. I also remember his wife, Marilyn. She was always happy and a delight to talk with. We had many conversations while waiting for Bob to get off the phone so I could...

Dear Uncle Bob, always had a smile and a kind word for me, even when I hadn't seen him in years. He was present at my wedding and shared in most of my happy extended family memories. Heartfelt hope that his family can find peace. Much love.

May GOD Bless this special man. My condolences to the great family he created. RIP in GOD's peace.

My deepest condolences to all of Bob's family.

Bob was special to me....he was my high school woodshop teacher, my high school basketball coach, and most of all my substitute father for a many months of a high school year when he and his family let me live with them while my father recuperated from a heart attack with my family in Arizona. What a wonderful experience knowing this gentle man. All who knew him had their lives enriched. Bob was my life long friend and I will miss him....

Cherish the memories. God will open his hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. Psalm 145:16

We were sorry to read about Bob's death in today's Saginaw News. Many years ago, in the 1960s we were active with him in the Lutheran Human Relations Association, and attended national conferences at Valparaiso University. He was interested in bringing about racial equality in this country, and in assuring civil rights for everyone. He was truly one of the truly nice people we got to meet in this world.

Words are always difficult at times like this, but those of David, of long ago,...

RIP Bob, blessings to family. I do remember our days at Wickes Lumber and the many good people.
