Not sure what to say?

To the Bouma family,

Our family has known your family for a long time, and we are saddened by the news. This summer I had the chance to see the Bouma family, and say 'hi' in what I'll remember as a happy time; enjoying lunch on the patio at the Onwentsia club. May God bless you all in this tough time.

Susan- So sorry about your loss. Love you. Karen Ellwood (Wilmette, IL)

To Susan, Jim, and Whit...
Even though I knew your husband and father for such a short period of his life, he exuded great determination, affection, and a spirit that I will remember forever...
Please accept my heartfelt sympathies for your loss...

I am so glad I got to see you both at Coe's Reunion. Susie if you need a hug I am sending this to you

To Whitley & David and Your Family, Stephen and I have on many occasions retold the story of your father (Robert E. Bouma) toasting you two and your rehearsal dinner. We believe it was the greatest toast ever told! We cannot do the words justice here, but when we repeat the story it is the presence, wit/humor, articulation, love and affection from your father that radiates from his delivery. He left us with an impressive legacy (toast and all) and you must be very proud. Our thoughts are...

Susan & family, Please accept our condolences in the loss of our friend, Bob. We cherish the precious opportunity we had to visit at the 50 year class reunion in Cedar Rapids in October where we recalled our youthful days at Coe College, Sigma Nu fraternity and a variety of experiences participating in Coe's championship basketball team. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.

Sincerely, Ted and Mimi Stang

Here's the thing about Bob. He had such a positive impact on so many people that his memory will remain. Highly combative and competitive (not everyone could deal with that - I have stories!), he nonetheless maintained great values and was a wonderful friend over the years. I am lucky to have communicated with him in the past few weeks - even from the other end of the world.

Dear Whitley, David and Bouma Family,

Jennifer has shared so many stories about your wonderful family and how you all have opened your arms to her. Being a "fellow Iowan" I feel like I have come to know your family and want you to know my thoughts, prayers and love are with all of you at this time.

Sincerely, Sharon Cranston, Cincinnati

You will be greatly missed. You were always larger than life and filled a room when you entered it. We lost a great, great man.
We will always appreciate all that you've done for our firm.
Our prayers are with the Bouma family.
