Robert H. Bovat, Jr of Wolcott, Vermont passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 2009.Bob was born March 16, 1958. He was 51 yrs old. Bob was a very active member of the Wolcott Volunteer Fire Department and first responder for many years. These jobs were very important to him. Bob was also constable for many years. Bob loved racing, Dale E. # 3 the most. He enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling. More than anyone or anything else he loved his two son, Nathan (24) and Daniel (22). He taught them how to be strong and to stand up for yourself and what you believe in. Bob had a few good friends, they know who they are, and many more he chose to call friends. He leaves behind his beloved sons, Nate & Dan, the mother of his sons and partner for 24 years, Laura Guyette, Step Dad and Step Mom, a sister, a brother, a stepsister and 2 half brothers. A celebration of Bob's life was held Sunday, November 22 with a tribute given by the local fire departments for his many years of service. Contributions in his memory may be given to the Wolcott Volunteer Fire Department, Po Box 132, Wolcott, VT 05680 or NEMS Ambulance Service. I miss you Bob every day, things for me have not been the same without you. Almost a year has gone by and I'm sitting here at my desk thinking about the good times we shared, working together, hunting together and just hanging out. You will always be with me and I will forever shed a tear when thinking about you.

My husband and I moved to Wolcott, Vermont last fall. One day when we were on a motorcycle ride we met a nice man outside the general store in Irasburg. It was Bob. He told us he was our neighbor and the Wolcott constable, and he welcomed us to the area. More than once, after a bad storm, he stopped by our house and asked if we needed help shoveling out. Anytime we had questions about the hunting, fishing, etc. he was there to talk to us. I liked him immediately and am so saddened to hear...
