Not sure what to say?

In Loving Memory of Bob Bowman Bob Bowman was more than a friend; he was kind and soft-spoken, bringing warmth to everyone fortunate enough to know him. My introduction to Bob happened quite serendipitously during my senior year at Eastern Illinois University. As if by fate, I stumbled upon a handwritten note in the Lincoln Book Store, just across the street from EIU's campus. The note was pinned above a book I was interested in: "If you'd like to learn more about this book, call this...

What a dear man! He was there for me when my husband was dying of cancer 10 years ago.

What a wonderful man he was! I have very fond memories of him as a student in the Music Department at California State University, Chico in the 1980's. He always was encouraging and and a great musical mentor. I got to perform with him on many occasions. He taught many piano students with excellence, but also came to recitals and concerts for those of us that weren't his studio students. He cared about all of us. He made a big impact on our department and the Chico community. I haven't...

Dr. Bowman was a tireless worker for social justice. I was honored to work alongside him for peace in our world and in our communities, and striving to elect candidates who shared our vision for a "humane" humanity. He was deeply heart-centered. An amazingly beautiful soul. Sending you love forever, Bob.

The Bowmans lived next door to me when I was young. I can remember Mr Bowmen always playing the piano. What a truly gifted man. I also had the privilege of accompanying him when I Played the flute. Great memories with the Bowmans on Meadow Rd. My heart goes out to the family may he RIP.

I first met Dr. Bowman when I was a kid. Growing up taking piano lessons in Chico meant eventually you'd run into him at a recital or other event since he was so passionate and involved in the community. For me it was Chico State's Bach Festival. I remember he did some technique workshops for students, he was so accommodating and thoughtful and respectful. And most of all he made it fun. At that time I would never have guessed that later in life I'd go on to get my bachelor's in music at...

Doctor Bowman was a genuine human being. For 7 years at the university he taught me how to play piano. When I was nervous he taught me how to be calm. When I was tense he showed me how to conserve my movements. I attribute the success of my Graduate recital to the patience and perseverance of Dr. Bowman, my gifted friend and brilliant spirit.

Bob was a very special teacher, musician, and spiritual fellow traveler. So much to say about him, but he knows it all by now...being tenderly wrapped in a silken blanket of fractal music....
