Robert Leon Braxton Sr.

Robert L. Braxton, Sr. of Laurel, Maryland, was born on February 16, 1956 and peacefully departed this life on the morning of August 19, 2013 at John Hopkins Neurology Clinic, Baltimore, Maryland. His parents Cleveland, Sr. and Sarah Braxton; his sisters, Virginia, Leona, Edith and Emma; his brothers, Cleveland, Jr., Leslie and Curtis all preceded him in death. He received his education in the Public School System of Prince George's County. "Bobby" as he was affectionately known, was employed for over 25 years with the University of Maryland, Food Service as well as time at Bowie State and Laurel Action Center. Robert was married to the late Ethel Smith-Braxton. From this union they had four children, Tyrone, Robert, Jr., Rene and Lisa. Bobby was a kind, friendly, loving and patient person. He was an avid sports fan, especially for the Dallas Cowboys. Robert was a resident of Patuxent River Rehabilitation Center of Laurel for the past several years. God knew it was time for Robert to rest. He was getting tired and weary so God prepared a place for him. He will be deeply missed and his memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Robert Leon Braxton, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory his five children Tyron, Robert, Jr., Rene, Lisa and Cheryl; two sisters Mildred Brown and Hilda Brooks; one brother Alfred Braxton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law Dora Braxton; five sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
