Robert L. Brickner Sr, 87, passed away on Thursday, May 6th, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Perry county, Pennsylvania, Robert had lived in Bordentown prior to moving to Roebling 63 years ago. Robert worked for the Florence Township Maintenance Department and retired after 29 years. He was a member of the congregation of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Roebling, a Master Mason, being a part of Mt. Moriah #28 in Bordentown, the Scottish Rite, and a longtime member of the Bordentown Elks. Robert also managed the Florence Township Recreation Committee and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be missed by all.


Predeceased by his brothers, Ralph and Raymond Brickner, and sisters, Ida Mary Reigh and Mamie Lebak. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jane Brickner; his daughter, Cynthia Quig of Myrtle Beach, SC, his son; Robert L. Brickner Jr. of Florence Twp., his brother; James Nelson of Franklin, NC; his sister, Anna Mae & Ronald Rice of Elliottsberg, PA and siblings: John Lebak of Myrtle Beach, SC and Shirley Steward of Bordentown Township. He is also survived by his grandson, Dustin Quig and his loving and devoted grandson, Adam Brickner and his fiancée Jessica Brienza, as well as his sisters-in-law, Bonnie Shin & Betty Carty, and brothers-in-law, Kenneth & Donald Shinn.


A memorial service for Robert will be held at 11am on Wednesday, May 12th, 2021 at Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, NJ. A visitation with the family will be held from 9am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family would like everyone who can to donate to St. Jude’s Children’s research hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown.

Jane we are so very sorry to here of the passing of Bob and your sister viola we are very saddened to here this hugs and prayers

Hoppy was the best! Hop always took us kids to the away high school games. All of us kids on amboy.I recall going over to the house and he'd let us listen to his bearcat scanner. Also being bat boy on 3477 team that hop coached. If my memory serves me right we were 21-0! Hoppy was one of the most generous and funny people we knew. He was a wonderful friend. We will miss him so much. We have so many great memories of him. So very sorry for your loss. The Brickner family will be in our thoughts and prayers. RIP, Hoppy!!! Til we meet again!
