Mr. Robert Evans "Bob" Bridgers, Jr., of Fairmont, NC, died Friday, January 7, 2022, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.  Born October 6, 1947, in Bennettsville, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Evans Bridgers, Sr. and the late Vera Hedgepeth Bridgers.  


Mr. Bridgers retired in 2013 from Food Lion where he worked in management for many years and made many lifelong friends. In recent years, he enjoyed part-time employment at Floyd's Auto Parts (The Napa Store) where he was able to socialize daily with friends old and new.  He spent nearly four decades refereeing high school football and basketball throughout the state of NC.  He had a love for the sports and for his comrades on the courts and fields.  Bob, or "Bobby" as his oldest friends called him, was gregarious and friendly with a smile for everyone.  He will be best known for his immense love for his family, love for his friends, and an unmatched sense of humor.
 
Mr. Bridgers is survived by his wife, Sandra Lovette Bridgers; his daughters, Kimberly Bridgers Wills (Cameron) of Charleston, SC, Kristin Bridgers Coonrod, (Robert) of Summerville, SC, Ginny Bridgers Propes (Todd), of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Anne-Marie Smith of Lumberton, NC, and April Lewis Sain (Chad) of Kernersville, NC; two sisters, Jane Bridgers Burgdorf (Gus) of Greenwood, SC, and Beth Bridgers Lewis (Chip) of Fairmont, NC; his seven grandchildren: Henry Coonrod, Vera Coonrod, Benjamin Propes, Bridger Propes, Jared Smith, Jordan Stanley, and Porter Stanley; and his three great-grandchildren: Graham Smith, Shae Smith, and Jaxon-Roberto Stanley. 
 
 A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Rowland cemetery.

I enjoyed our friendship many years ago and although we haven't seen each other in many years, I will miss seeing and following your family on Facebook..

Had the opportunity to work with and along side Bob, When my brother had his accident, Bob sit with us at the hospital since he was there as well. I’m sorry for your loss.
