Don was the first non-work friend I made when I moved to New Mexico 28 years ago. We bonded over our unbridled (and possibly unhinged) love of LSU sports as well memories of our time living in Louisiana. We enjoyed many wonderful trips to both LSU and Major League baseball games. Don was our next door neighbor for around 15 years. He was always cheerful, friendly and the kind of person you´re glad lives next door. At one point I went to the DC area for an extended period for my last Air Force assignment. Marilyn stayed behind to take care of the house and our dog. Don was always there to make sure she was okay. It was a great comfort to know Don was next door just in case. We miss him a lot - rest in peace friend. Bill & Marilyn Gampel
