Bob showed me how to use vi and freed me up from the need of a typist. He had a great love of the outdoors, hiking and cross country skiing. Took me to Mount Lassen one winter coat some memorable skiing.

My father Rex and Bob met at TI in Dallas the 1970s. Bob and Shelagh were our family's hiking, camping, canoeing and dinner companions when I was a young child -- I have many fond memories of his jovial spirit, always bringing laughter and joy. I know his last years were not easy - I will always remember him laughing in front of a roaring fire after a sunny adventure in the wilderness.
