Athens Robert Wayne "Bob" Bruce, 71, of Athens died Saturday, September 6, 2025 at his home. Born June 29, 1954 in Athens, he was the son of the late James and Dorothy Thompson Bruce.

Robert attended Athens High School. He enjoyed horses, was a horse farrier in the area and worked as an auto body technician for many years. He retired from and was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18. He enjoyed garden tractor pulling with his brothers. He was a member of Constitution Lodge 426 F&AM.

Robert is survived by his daughter and son in law, Charla & Tim Gretz of The Plains; two grandchildren, Shyanna and Conner Gretz; a sister, Kathy (Phil) Koska of Athens; a brother, Jim (Pam) Bruce of Athens; a sister in law, Sharon "Mimi" Bruce of Nelsonville; a brother in law, George Enevoldsen of Athens; seven nieces and three nephews; special friends, Mike Carbaugh of Athens, Dave Smith of Middleport and Charlie Gambill of Nelsonville.

Beside his parents he is preceded in death by an infant sister, Patricia Bruce; a sister, Janis Enevoldsen; a brother, Larry Bruce; and a niece, Kathy Shea Mulligan.

Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Pastor Roger Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Canaanville Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 11:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
