Not sure what to say?

Dear Mrs Burghardt and Family,

Bob was a beloved member of the Rockland Community College family. I was fortunate to know and work with Bob for over 13 years. During that time he was a shining star who created programs and trips through the Institute for Senior Education, the Elderhostel program and Continuing Education. He brought Hudson Valley history to life through his paintings, walking tours and lectures. Bob had his "groupies", folks that would sign up semester after...

I offer my prayers and condolences to the entire family. Robert was a very special person who never hesitated to share his many gifts. I still recall the wonderful painting we proudly displayed at the Thorpe Intermedia Gallery! It truly "stole the show!"
Blessings, Sr. Adele Myers

Dear Rita,
I was sorry to read of the death of your Dad. I attended the funeral Mass and of course you didn't recognize your old friend(used to be Glynn) from Albertus. I just wanted to pay my respects to you and your family. Your Dad was always sweet to me I remember skating at Letchworth with you and your Dad. He was my last math teacher @RCC (calculus ended my Math career!) I had the pleasure of hearing him speak about Rockland's history at a Suffern Junior Woman's Club...

Dear Mrs. Burghardt, Mary, Joe, Anne, Rita, Irene and Robert,

So many memories are intertwined; the neighborhood, St. Greg's church and school and most include at least one member of the Burghardt family. Mr. Burghardt had a major influence on my life because he always took the time to take "the kids" places - ice skating and sleigh riding in the winter, swimming in the summer and hiking in between times. He treated us all as important and special. He is truly a man to be honored...

Dear Mrs. Burghardt, Anne and Family,
Our prayers are with your family. We have been friends for so very long and we are so saddended to hear of your loss. Mr. Burghardt was one of the first people to welcome my parents to Stony Point all those years ago and help to make us feel welcome as new residents, new parishoners to our church and also to let us know we share some of the same heritage. He always made you feel comfortable. May the good Lord keep him safely wrapped in his...

To the Burghardt Family,
We have fond memories of Bob,who when my son John was 12 took him under his wing and gave him private art lessons. He would take John out to different spots in Haverstraw and Stony Point and John would paint the landscape as Bob had done in his earlier paintings. They still hang in our house today and have the unmistakable look and influence of a Robert Burghardt painting. I was sorry that period of time came to an end, as Bob was such a wonderful influence on...

Celia and family,
How fortunate I consider myself to have known Bob and to have him serve as the Arts Chair of RocklandFest for the 11 years this event was held.
Bob's commitment to our Rockland community could be seen in his activities, his art and his conversation. The visitors to RocklandFest who stopped by his booth always heard wonderful tales of the Rockland that was and enjoyed the art that conveyed our "vanishing landscape."
We have lost a community treasure

Dear Rita and family,
Please accept my sympathy on the loss of your father. I will remember him at mass on Sunday.
In Faith,
Barbara

Mrs. Burghardt, Anne, & Rita,
I fondly recall Mr. Burghardt as someone who always included me like one of his own, whether it was ice skating, hiking or trips to the museum.
My prayers are with you and your families.
