BURN, SR., Robert Entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 17, 2005, Mr. Robert James Burn, Sr. husband of Caroline Conklin Burn, of Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Burn, Sr. are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. this Tuesday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 PM. Please make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va. 23508-5216. Mr. Burn was born on Sunday, October 11, 1925, in St. Augustine , FL. a son of Lockwood James Burn and Louise Clair Burn. He attended Mitchell Elementary and Murray Vocational High School. Mr. Burn honorably served our country in the U. S. Navy during World War II and later in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #242 and the V.F.W. Post # 179. Mr. Burn was employed by Sears Roebuck for over thirty-eight years in sales. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, Atlanta Braves Baseball and never missed a grandchild's recital or sporting event. Mr. Burn is survived by his wife, Caroline Conklin Burn; six children: Francie B. Fisk, Robert J. Burn, Jr. and Harry C. Burn of Charleston, Trudy B. Descaro of Bluffton, Paulette Burn Stoe and Paul P. Burn of Charleston. Eleven grandchildren: Brandy Lytle, Chad Burn, Shaun Burn, Caroline Perreyclear, Kristin Burn, Timmy Stoe, Barry Descaro Robbie Burn, III, Paul Burn II, Tyler Stoe Rhett Burn and his Brother, Rev. In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. I have such wonderful & fun memories growing up of Uncle Robert. He was one of a kind & all of my Uncle's are in my heart. I miss them all so very much.

When Mom let us know that Mr. Burn had died, we all felt a great loss, even though it has been a while since we've seen him. Dear Burn family,
I was saddened to hear of Uncle Robert's passing. My father (Fred Burn) spoke so highly of him and we never missed a chance to stop by Sears to say hello. My deepest condolences to the family.

I am terribly sorry to hear of Uncle Robert's passing, (he was my grandfather's brother), he will be greatly missed. My condolences to you all.

Bob was a caring and loving father -in-law and friend to our son Timothy A Stoe.

WE will always think of him as a "Southern Gentleman" whos love and kindness touched many lives.
